Acupuncture Needling – getting right to the point

General No Comments »

Sometimes people would like to have acupuncture treatment having heard how beneficial it is for many problems, but they are afraid of having acupuncture needling. This is mainly because they think it will be very painful and some may have concerns around the cleanliness of the needles.

These days the acupuncture regulatory bodies lay down strict guidelines for the use of acupuncture needling in their members’ practices. You will find that almost all qualified acupuncturists will use disposable needles that are only used once. This safeguards both the patients and the practitioners.

Most acupuncture needles are very fine and can hardly be felt when inserted by an experienced acupuncturist. Naturally there are one or two places on the body that are especially sensitive to acupuncture needling. But there are always othere methods that can be used if a person is especially sensitive. A simple acupuncture stimulant pen that sends a mild charge into the acupuncture point when pressed is a simple and very acceptable solution.

Children who are nototiously afraid of needles find this method very easy to tolerate. So adults certainly have no problems with it.

In the hands of an experienced practitioner, acupuncture needling is well accepted and the improvement in well being as well as their health problem, make it a treatment that most patients really look forward to.

Sweaty Palms Treatment

General No Comments »

Having excessive sweating of the underarms is one thing, sweaty palms is a completely different story. No one wants to shake hands with someone who has clammy hands, unfortunately many of those people are actually sufferers of Hyperhidrosis(excessive sweating). It can be embarassing to be in such situations, when you’re meeting new people you want to leave a good impression, you don’t want to leave a sweaty impression on the other person’s hand! And if you ever happen to go dancing, that is even worse! Nervousness combined with sweaty palms leads to major embarassment. What can be done about this? Well, there is one very popular sweaty palms treatment available, it’s called "Iontophoresis".

This sweaty palms treatment involves placing your hands in shallow dishes filled with water and having an electric current passed through the water. It is believed the electrical currents along with the mineral content of the water work with each other and thicken your outer layer of skin thus preventing sweat from escaping.

The thing about this sweaty palms treatment is it takes about 20 to 40 minutes to undergo the treatment and this needs to be done every second day for 5-10 days to get the majority of sweating handled. Then thereafter, a maintenance schedule of once a week up to once a month will be necessary to ensure you are sweat free.

It’s quite a lot of work just to stay sweat free. However there are other more convenient methods available.

1. Kava Kava Tea

One way of curing sweaty palms and feet is to try drinking kava kava tea. What this tea does is it helps relax your central nervous system and as a result of being more relaxed, you will sweat less. A lot of excess sweating is caused by anxiety and simply calming the nerves on a daily basis with this tea can be helpful.

2. Yoga/Meditation/Breathing Excercises

Another thing you can try to help with your sweaty palms and feet is to take up yoga, meditiation or practice deep breathing. All of these practices teach your body to relax itself. By taking the time out of the day to calm and center yourself, you will find you are relieving stress and experiencing less anxiety. As a consequence, your swating will be reduced.

3. Foot Powder

This is particularly for treating sweaty feet. Using footpowder which you can find at your local drugstore, you can help prevent excess sweating within your shoes. This will also help keep your shoes smelling fresher.

4. Change your Socks Frequently

Yes, try changing your socks several times a day. This way your socks won’t have the time to accumulate so much sweat that they make walking around uncomfortable. Just take an extra pair or two to work and change them at around lunch time discretely. Make sure they are breathable cotton socks too.

Want to Cure Underarm Sweating?

General No Comments »

Did you know that 50% of those who have excessive sweating problems have had it passed down through their genetics? It is somewhat of a hereditary condition. It is a condition known as Hyperhidrosis and it effects more than 3% of the entire population. Unfortunately only 40% of those seek medical advice or attention, the rest remain silent sufferers. There are ways you can cure underarm sweating, to the point where it is a non-issue in your life. Here I’m going to go over several natural methods you can try out to help cure underarm sweating for you.

1. Talcum Powder

To cure underarm sweating, try using talcum powder everyday after you shower, make it a habit of applying talcum powder to your underarms. This will work to keep you skin dry thoughout the day.

2. 100% Cotton Tops

Not only is cotton a natural and "breathable" fabric which allows for proper ventilation, but it also acts to absorb and disperse some of the sweat.

3. White Vinegar

Another way to cure underarm sweating is to take some white vinegar, apply it to a cotton ball and wipe your underarms with it. The vinegar will prevent excess sweating as well as combat sweaty odors.

4. Sliced Potatoes

Believe it or not, slicing open a potato and rubbing the inside of it on your underarm will work to prevent excess sweating. There’s something about the qualities of a potato that aid in temporarily clogging the pores and preventing sweat from escaping.

Try these methods out on their own or in combination with each other and see how this helps you prevent excessive sweating.

Excessive Foot Sweating?

General No Comments »

If you’re one of the over 6 million people worldwide suffering from excessive sweating, I’m sure you’ve been racking your brains around how to cure this condition. It is quite frustrating to go through treatment after treatment and not see any significant results, many people suffer with this condition their whole lives without getting any form of effective treatment. It doesn’t have to be this way for you however, there are several effective ways to treat excessive foot sweating. One that is effective is "Iontophoresis".

Iontophoresis is the process of sending an electrical current to the offending area to disrupt the sweat glands from excreting excessive amounts of sweat. This is a particularly useful treatment to stop excessive foot sweating. You can either see a specialist for this treatment, or you can buy a home kit for around $500 and do it yourself. This treatment isn’t for everyone though. If you have a pacemaker, if you’re a woman who’s pregnant, or if you have a lot of metal implants in your body(ex: joint replacements), you’re not going to want to try this, it may have adverse side effects.

If you plan on going ahead with this treatment for excessive foot sweating, you will need to place your feet within shallow water filled pans through which electric currents are channeled. You should put some vaseline on the bottoms of your feet to prevent skin irritation after the treatment is complete.

Chews4Health Introduces a New Nutritional

General No Comments »

With the increasing popularity of nutritional supplements, there is also a growing demand for products that have an effective "delivery system" -that is, that allows the body to quickly and efficiently absorb whatever nutrient the product contains. You may have heard, for example, that juices are a more effective way to take supplements than pills. A new product, called Chews4Health, has introduced a new kind of delivery system. It is an all natural product, made with a wide variety of "superfoods" from both land and sea, and highly nutricious juices such as Goji, Acai, Mangosteen and Noni, that is chewed rather than drunk or swallowed. Unlike traditional "chewable" vitamins, this is an organic, food-based product. The creator of this product, Dr. Friedman, points out that chewing is the natural way both animals and humans have always gotten their nutrition. So a nutritional supplement that follows this process is closest to nature. Right now, Chews4Health is only available through their web site. It is also seeking distributors, who receive a discount on the product and are eligible to receive income and bonuses for making it available to others. In addition to being an innovative nutritional supplement, Chews4Health has created an extremely profitable payment plan for distributors, which will provide people interested in a business the opportunity to create a part-time or full-time income.

Office Stress Management Techniques For The Good Of Your Health

General No Comments »

Long-term career success depends upon your coping strategies and learning office stress management techniques. Here are a few techniques that will help you.

  • One of the many office stress management techniques that people often overlook is being as organized on the job as humanly possible. Being disorganised can make you feel very frustrated. It consumes a lot of time in finding your lost papers or computer documents and so you do not achieve everything that you want to do by the end of the day. Keep your personal calls and talking with co-workers to a minimum during business hours.

Chat with friends only during break-times so it does not impinge on your work. This lessens the stress of trying to meet deadlines that could have been met with some better time management.

  • Begin your day the right way, the efficient way. This office stress management technique begins before you leave home in the morning. Before you go to bed, lay out the clothes and other items that you are going to need to take with you to the office. Trying to do this at the last minute before dashing out of the door causes stress before you have even left home!

Try to have a substantial breakfast – if need be get up a little earlier to give yourself time. The body and mind need food to work at optimum levels. You would not drive in your car without making sure you have petrol. Likewise the body too needs fuel to start the day.

  • It is important to have a personal life outside work, to make some time available for relaxation with family and friends, to go out for the day or the weekend and enjoy a completely different scene.

These are just some office stress management techniques to help you. I’m sure you can think of many more!

Planter Wart Removal – The Therapeutic Options Doctors Use

General No Comments »

Many people who experience warts find that even after treatment they often come back. This forces doctors to try many different methods of planter wart removal. From the basics of how HPV causes a wart, and the most commonly successful treatment, this brief article will introduce to you how the professionals go about planter wart removal.

It has been known for some time now that there are over 75 distinct unique types of HPV virus. Known as the human papilloma virus that most common type is by far the planter wart virus. Although the wart can appear anywhere on the body, most commonly it starts on the feet and hands.

Even though planter warts are completely benign they can be extremely uncomfortable and over time will often grow and spread. Often times (ma by 50% of the time) the human immune system will simply eradicate the wart over time. The problem is, most patients would probably rather remove the planter wart then wait for years and years.

Typically doctors will recommend the following methods of planter wart removal:

Salicylic acid
Laser treatment
Cryotherapy, freezing liquid nitrogen
Cutting, blunt dissection
Electrodesiccation

There are many many more treatments available, however these are the ones that medical professionals typically begin with. For the majority of patients any one of these planter wart removal methods will be enough to trigger the body’s natural response to healing the wart. However for about 20% of the population, even repeated use of these methods will be ineffective. For these patients, something a little different will be required. For more information on alternative treatments see the Painless Planter Wart Treatment.

Dr. Campbell has written an number of articles and guides on planter wart removal. He runs an informational website with tips and step by step guides. For all this and more be sure to check out Planter Wart Removal!

Sweating Hands? Try this…

General No Comments »

I was looking through Youtube the other day and came across a video of a young teen playing a video game called "Guitar Hero". He was playing the game on a guitar hooked up to console system and after only a few minutes of playing the game live on this video, you could see sweat dripping off his hands and onto the guitar! I’m sure if you have issues with sweating hands, this is something you can relate to. It’s unfortunate that some of us have to deal with such a condition which not only inconveniences us but de-moralizes us as well. The good news is new treatment methods are coming out all the time and I have just found a new twist on a tried and true method!

So what is this new method of treating sweating hands? Well, it involves Iontophoresis and one key ingredient. Iontophoresis as it is is a very effective way (albeit costly and time consuming) of treating sweating hands, but in order to make it more effective all you have to do is add an oral anticholinergic. Now taking an oral anticholinergic as a form of treatment usually causes side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, memory loss and increased heart rate to name a few, however, crush it up and place it in the water to be used for Iontophoresis and you have a winner! You won’t get the side effects, and when you place your hands in the shallow water filled pans, the crushed anticholinergic along with the electric current passed through the water will work to thicken your outer layer of skin. This added thickness will result in a temporary barrier that prevents excess sweat from escaping.

So there you have it, a simple way to improve on Iontophoresis.
